I got the PS3 setup, initialized and updated( via internet) all OK.

I installed YDL no problems.

I tested my internet connection and was able to browse, both on the PS3 and on YDL no problem.

When I went to download the PS3 client from the main page here, I get about 1 or 2% (about 100-200K) if anything and then the download stalls. Did it about 10 times and never could get past that.

I then tried to download the standard client from the boinc.berkeley site. It got about 31% quickly and then stalled too, something like 1.3MB of the 4MB.

I could browse the internet at the same time, so I was connected.

I finally gave up and successfully downloaded on another computer and transfered to the PS3 on my CF card.

Once I got the PS3 client running it connected to my account OK and I let it run 10 test workunits. so download and upload via Boinc_client works.

Has anyone else experienced a download problem YDL on PS3 ?

Any suggestions on what to look for as a cause ?

Are you using a Wireless or Ethernet connection?

Ethernet.

When this happens on Linux on PS3. I can on that unit continue to browse the internet in firefox and on any of my other computers do anything email, download, browse. The PS3 also once I installed BOINC download 10 tasks and uploaded 10 results, but the file download was still stalled.

This is a new setup and I have not done any fine tuning. Basicially it is the way YellowDog installs it.

As this is a new setup, and I am not entirely familiar with Linux I do not know where to look for a problem.

Problem solved.

Don\'t know how it got fixed.

PS3 has been off for a week.

Today when I restarted it and tried a download, it worked no problem.

I had messed with some settings last time it was on, trying to solve the problem but they had no effect on that day.

Score one for the Ghost in the Machine.
