Dear all,
I've open this thread to allow for comments/bugs/complaints on the new website.
Happy holidays,

Very nice new design. I like it a lot. However, I do not see a link to search for Teams. New people (or existing ones) who want to join a team could have a hard time finding how to search for a team... or maybe I'm overlooking something? |

There is a sortable list of teams to be browsed 20 at a time under the "volunteers" section. |
|
|
|
Yes, but there's no search field. Do you expect a user to spend half an hour clicking on "Next 20" until he finds a team he wants to join? That's not very practical |

good work !
very very white for my taste but OK. (maybe after the black style )
i´ve searched the "my account"-button 3 minutes long until i found that after a click on the username. *lol*
no bugs found.
a suggestion:
Instructions to participate
Hard disk install
Check your GPU compatibility (by skgiven).
Download and install the required GPU drivers
CUDA drivers required [Download]
Download and install the recommended BOINC client (6.12.34)
BOINC for Windows 32-bit
BOINC for Windows 64-bit
BOINC for Linux 64-bit
it would be better to link not directly to the binary of each one.
boincclients changed many times and so you should better link to:
http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download_all.php
or
http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download.php

Only here.
News should be also received in the newer BOINC clients and on Twitter.
cheers

Well blow me down with a feather duster. Its quite a change from before, just will take a little getting used to :-)
Is it possible to spread the links at the top of the page (username, logout etc) apart a bit? I quite often use an iPad and find with my big fingers that I hit the wrong one because they are so close to each other. |

Good idea, but for now you could use a stylus :)

I like the new site. Very clean and well organized.
I like the new logo too. Do you have larger version? I put links on my personal website to the projects I contribute to but the new logo looks a little small compared to the others.

No problem. I added +8px between the links and +4px between the username and logout.
Hopefully this is better :)
I am glad the reaction is positive so far.

1. Cudo's on the new site...very stylish. Nice graphics on the home page.
2. Now that it is online, could we please add a few more link buttons to the "Web sites" section of the BOINC Manager's Projects & Tasks tabs? (e.g., My Account, [project] Preferences, Forum, as a minimum.) I don't recall if this requires a project Remove/Reattach to activate the buttons or not, but whatever.
Compliments of the season to all GPUGRID staff & crunchers :)

This was delayed until after the server upgrades and site redevelopment.
My understanding is that it's not particularly difficult but it might be down the list, behind badge recognition, app development, adding support for AMD cards.

Looks great. Much better color choices for aging eyes.
Two minor problems:
Not getting emails about PM messages or moderator notices. The "immediate email" box is still selected.
Also in setting, like for community, the check boxes are wide and space weirdly, making that page hard to read, such as, ignore dashes I needed something to substite for spaces for the forum
example:
[box] choice
----[box] choice
--------[box] choice |

Is it all right that the "GPUGRID CAFE" topic has -19 threads? |

Thread count's are just wrong. Think it happened when I 'moved' lots of hidden spam in the old site.
The FAQ thread is also conspicuous with 2 threads :))
Actual threads are fine though, it's just the count that is out.
I like the way 'subscribed threads' appear highlighted in green :)

This is now fixed.
We are looking into the email thing too. |

While you were busy fixing things someone leaked your badges!
Maybe you should fix something else :))

I can's seem to upload an avatar pic (.jpg, 100x100,8.7KB). When I hit the "Update" button on the Community Preferences page, I get a blank screen... |

Create an account with Gravatar.com, upload the image to your Gravatar account and then select to 'Use a Globally Recognized Avatar provided by Gravatar.com' in community preferences.
You could then use your same Gravatar on other Boinc projects (except WCG, at present). |

It would be useful to be able to see the app versions in the Server Status page.
Tasks by application
application unsent in progress avg runtime of last 100 results in h (min-max) users in last 24h
